A Practice Built on Careful Work and Considered Advice
Tanjong Path was founded to provide Singapore businesses with consulting that goes beyond surface-level analysis.
Back to HomeOur Story
Rooted in Singapore, Focused on What Matters
Tanjong Path began as a response to a pattern we observed across Singapore's business landscape: organisations of real substance — with proprietary knowledge, loyal customer bases, and complex structures — operating without the consulting support those assets deserved.
We set out to build a practice that treats each engagement as a distinct problem worth thinking about carefully. Our work draws on structured methodology, direct client involvement, and a commitment to producing outputs that actually get used — not filed away.
The name reflects something we value: a path that holds its course even when the terrain around it shifts. Singapore's business environment is dynamic. Our role is to help organisations maintain clarity about their direction, their assets, and their relationships through that movement.
We operate as a small, senior-led practice. Every client works directly with experienced consultants throughout the engagement — there is no hand-off to junior staff once the scoping is agreed.
Our Mission
Structured Thinking. Tangible Results.
Intellectual Rigour
We do not accept the first framing of a problem. Good consulting requires questioning assumptions before recommending actions.
Practical Outputs
Every engagement delivers something actionable — a report, a framework, a model — designed for internal use, not for presentation alone.
Client Centrality
We orient every engagement around the client's actual situation. Generic approaches adapted loosely to context are not what we offer.
Long-term Perspective
Our recommendations are designed to hold up over time — not optimised for short-term metrics at the expense of structural soundness.
The Team
Senior Practitioners, Every Engagement
Our engagements are led and delivered by experienced consultants with direct industry backgrounds — not supervised by them from a distance.
Raymond Wee

Over fifteen years advising technology firms and creative businesses on IP portfolio management, licensing structures, and competitive positioning in Southeast Asia.
Serene Ng
Lead Consultant, Customer Retention
Combines quantitative modelling with qualitative research to help subscription and service businesses understand churn at its root and build retention strategies that hold.
Anand Kumar
Senior Consultant, Governance
Works with holding companies and regional group structures to design governance frameworks that provide meaningful oversight without creating unnecessary operational friction.
How We Work
Standards We Hold Ourselves To
These are not abstract values — they are the practical standards that shape how each engagement is scoped, conducted, and concluded.
Scoped Before We Start
Every engagement begins with a written scope agreement. Objectives, deliverables, timeline, and fee are documented before any consulting work is undertaken.
Confidentiality by Default
Mutual NDAs are signed before any sensitive material is shared. Client data and information are not referenced or disclosed outside the engagement team.
Evidence-Led Analysis
Recommendations are built from your data and your context. We do not apply pre-packaged frameworks unless they genuinely fit the situation being examined.
Timeline Adherence
Engagements run to the agreed schedule. If scope changes materially, this is discussed and agreed with the client before it affects delivery.
Senior Delivery Throughout
The consultant who scopes your engagement is the same one who conducts the analysis and presents the findings. There is no delegation to junior team members after kick-off.
Post-Engagement Support
We make ourselves available for clarifying questions in the weeks following the engagement conclusion. Our aim is that the report gets used, not shelved.
Our Expertise
Consulting Grounded in Singapore's Business Environment
Tanjong Path operates at the intersection of three areas where Singapore organisations frequently need structured, external support: intellectual property management, client retention strategy, and multi-entity governance design. These are not abstract domains — they are practical disciplines that have direct consequences for how well a business performs and how resilient it is to competitive and regulatory change.
Singapore's position as a regional hub for technology, finance, and professional services means that many businesses here manage IP portfolios that span multiple jurisdictions, serve client bases spread across ASEAN, and operate through legal structures that have evolved over time without a coherent governance layer. Our three consulting engagements address these realities directly.
We have worked with technology firms seeking to leverage their proprietary processes, service businesses losing clients they did not fully understand, and regional holding companies whose governance arrangements had not kept pace with their structural complexity. In each case, the engagement produced a documented, actionable output — and in each case, the client left with a clearer picture of where they stood and what to prioritise.
Our office in China Square Central places us at the centre of Singapore's professional services district — close to the clients we serve and the networks that inform our advisory work. We welcome initial conversations without any preconditions.
